The X-tract series features native breath control, reducing breathing effects to just 0.5% at the 24mm (compared to 39.2% in other 24mm probe primes). The focus breathing becomes virtually imperceptible, minimizing the need for post-production adjustments. This ensures seamless visual continuity and stability during focus shifts, delivering immersive and spectacular cinematic visuals. The X-tract 0° probe zoom maintains a relative illumination of 70.7%, while the 90° probe zoom offers 68.6% (compared to 54.9% in other 24mm probe primes), ensuring consistent brightness and delivering professional-grade visual performance.

I didn’t expect a probe lens to look this clean. Sharpness and contrast are better than I thought, and distortion is very manageable. It cuts well with my other cinema lenses, which is important for commercial work.

I’ve used fixed probe lenses before and they’re cool, but also kind of limiting. The 18–28mm zoom on the X-tract is a game changer. I can fine-tune framing without moving the rig, which saves a lot of time on set—especially for product and food shoots.
Is there a mechanical ring that allows you to rotate the barrel of the lens, or the barrel of the periscope — so that the lens front itself rotates during a shot?
Yes, the X-Tract has a vertical rotating ring and a lock switch that allow to rotate and lock the barrel.
Is there any compromise to the X-tract lenses in their interchangeable kit version vs the full seperate lenses?
There is no compromise to the interchangeable kit, however, you might notice some abrasions after changing frequently the barrel of the lens.
Tutorial for the X-Tract and what are the differences among the three lens kits?
The 3 lenses have different angles which can help achieve different effects and fit in different situations. You may find some information and tutorials on Youtube.
