Homage to the Classics, Redefined with Modern Optics The Arles series of prime cinema lenses draws inspiration from the unique light and artistic atmosphere of Arles, France. It revives the soft bokeh and romantic color rendering of classic cine lenses while leveraging modern precision optics to infuse full-frame/VV imagery with a cinematic, storytelling quality.
Full-Frame/VV Coverage, Constant T2.8 Aperture The full set covers full-frame and large VV sensors with a constant T2.8 aperture, providing ample light intake and beautiful shallow depth-of-field. Perfect for low-light shooting or achieving exceptionally smooth bokeh, it offers greater creative freedom.
Signature "Painterly" Visual Style The Arles lenses feature a distinctive optical character: soft glowing highlights, delicate shadow transitions, and rounded, atmospheric bokeh. This carefully tuned performance adds an elegant, vintage "oil-painting-like" texture directly to your image.
A Reliable Tool Built for Cinematographers Crafted with an all-metal barrel and a robust PL mount (or interchangeable mount system), it features industry-standard gear pitch and focus throw. Excellent breathing control and consistent focus maintenance ensure stable, reliable performance during dynamic shots and focus pulls.
Complete Set, Cohesive Aesthetic The Arles series covers essential focal lengths from 18mm to 85mm, with consistent color, contrast, and bokeh characteristics across the set. This allows creators to switch seamlessly between scenes and focal lengths while maintaining a unified, strong visual style—ideal for building a distinct cinematic language.

This High Speed Prime Cine Lens - Arles Series - covers Vista Vision sensors with a 46.5mm image circle, providing greater light transmission for enhanced depth and dimension in your visuals. This results in broader, more immersive images with rich detail. T1.4 aperture and unique field curvature design offer exceptional focus control, creating a three-dimensional visual experience with smooth transitions between in-focus and out-of-focus areas.
Cinematic Depth with Painterly Rendering
The Arles Prime boasts 16 aperture blades, delivering delightful circular bokeh and ensuring smooth transitions between in-focus and out-of-focus areas. At maximum aperture, it presents a soft low-contrast look, while slight swirling bokeh on the periphery adds a distinctive characteristic to the image, enhancing the emotional depth of each frame.
Crafted Precision for Immaculate Clarity
Using advanced multi-layer nano-coating technology, the Arles series features a specially calibrated blue coating that ensures precise flare control with minimal stray light and ghosting, plus exceptional color accuracy across the spectrum.
For cinematographers, this means total control over your flares when shooting into light sources, while maintaining rich, true-to-life color rendering that holds up even in challenging lighting conditions. The specially calibrated blue coating ensures natural color reproduction, delivering a modern yet distinct look that enhances the immersive quality of the imagery.
This entire T1.4 cine lens series incorporates a protective coating on the front lens element to resist dust and dirt accumulation, ensuring high light transmission and consistent optical clarity.
The internal lens structure utilizes sandblasting and anodizing techniques to create a micro-level anti-reflective coating with ultra-low reflectivity, reducing diffuse reflections. Even when shooting directly against the light, the lenses deliver clean and sharp images.
Across the entire focal range, these high-speed lenses maintain consistent color temperatures of around 5000K, faithfully reproducing vivid, true-to-life colors and presenting a natural, neutral visual style for video production.
Comprehensive Focal Rangefor Diverse Creation
With a comprehensive set of eleven lenses covering ultra-wide, standard, and telephoto focal lengths, the Arles series caters to a wide range of shooting scenarios while maintaining consistent visual aesthetics.
DZOFILM Arles Focal Length Coverage
Compatible with larger format sensors, it offers coverage for medium format cameras such as the Fujifilm GFX 50S (43.8 × 32.9mm format) with focal lengths ranging from 25mm to 50mm, as well as large format cameras like the ALEXA 65 (54.12 × 25.59 mm) with focal lengths from 75mm to 180mm, satisfying the diverse needs from independent filmmaking to large-scale film production.
What sets the Arles Primes apart is their ability to achieve an IMAX-like depth of field at T/1.4.
I picked up the Arles FF/VV for narrative work and have been impressed by the cinematic look it delivers. The lenses have a nice, organic feel — not overly clinical, but sharp enough for 4K. Colors render beautifully and skin tones look very filmic. Build quality feels solid and they balance well on a shoulder rig.

he Arles primes give you that cinematic depth and smooth focus fall-off, and they cut well with other cinema lenses. Build quality feels sturdy for the price, and the 16-blade iris gives nice round bokeh. Only slight edge softness wide open, but stopped down it’s great.

I shot an entire feature with my DZOFilm Arles 35mm T1.4 and DZOFilm Arles 21mm T1.4—clean, sharp images and great control at T1.4. They handle low light really well and the bokeh looks beautiful. I’ll take these out anytime.
